Meet the Doctors

Dr. Dan Weitz

Dr. Weitz is proud to be practicing in his hometown of Hamilton, Ontario. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from McMaster University prior to completing his dental degree at the University of Western Ontario. He subsequently finished a 3-year residency in Periodontics at the University of Rochester, Eastman Institute for Oral Health. Among his awards, Dr. Weitz has received the Elgin Dental Association Award in Oral Surgery, the Canadian Academy of Periodontology Award, and the American Academy of Periodontology Award.

Dr. Weitz is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He has hospital privileges at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. Dr. Weitz has published first-author original research into sinus floor elevation using ultrasonic instruments, implant surface decontamination methods, and has numerous other publications in the dental research literature. He has also presented posters at prestigious international meetings held in Austria, Brazil, and Italy.

In his personal time, Dr. Weitz enjoys reading, sports and spending time with friends and family, especially his wife and kids.

Dr. Daniel Zeiter

Dr. Zeiter has been practicing periodontics and implant dentistry in Hamilton, Ontario since 1998. He is a Board Certified Periodontist and obtained his specialty degree in Periodontics with a Masters Degree in Health Sciences from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1998. During his residency, he was inducted into the College of Health Professions Honor Society and received the Outstanding Student Award in Graduate Periodontics.

His Bachelor of Science degree was obtained in 1982 from McMaster University in Hamilton Ontario. In 2008 he joined the department of Periodontics at the school of Dental Medicine at the State University of New York at Buffalo as a part-time faculty member and is currently on staff at the Graduate Periodontics Clinic. He was awarded the Educator Award by the American Academy of Periodontology for outstanding teaching and mentoring in Periodontics.

His past academic appointments include Clinical Instructor from 2001-2008 in the Oral Reconstruction Clinic in the Department of Graduate Periodontics at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry. Dr. Zeiter has taught at the Dental Residency program at the Hamilton General Hospital; the Department of Periodontics at the Medical University of South Carolina; and the Department of Dental Hygiene at St. Claire College in Windsor, Ontario.

In 2005 he achieved Diplomatic status from the American Board of Periodontology; a distinction given to a periodontist who has undertaken requirements and examination beyond the mandatory educational requirements of the specialty. He has served as President for the Ontario Society of Periodontics and The Hamilton Academy of Dentistry; and was awarded the 2008 President’s award by the Hamilton Academy of Dentistry. He is a fellow of the American College of Dentists, a fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, a fellow of the International College of Dentists and the Academy of Dentistry International. Dr Zeiter is on staff with the dental service, with Hamilton Health Sciences in Hamilton, Ontario.

Dr. Zeiter founded the Comprehensive Dental Study Club of Hamilton in 2011, an interdisciplinary and active study club of more than 30 dentists and specialists in the Hamilton area who meet on a monthly basis to improve their education in the fields of dentistry and patient care.

Dr. Zeiter is published on the subjects of sinus augmentation, soft and hard tissue expansion for ridge augmentation and connective tissue grafting. He has lectured and taught extensively on the subjects of periodontology, ridge augmentation and dental implants. Dr. Zeiter forwards all of his lecturing honorariums to charitable organizations.

Dr. Zeiter enjoys music, reading, traveling, restoring classic cars and rally driving.

Dr. Eva Volman

Dr. Eva Volman earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, where she developed a strong interest in the prevention and management of periodontal disease. Her early research in this field led to publications in two renowned journals, Periodontology 2000 and the Journal of the International Academy of Periodontology. During her training, she was awarded the American Academy of Implant Dentistry Award in recognition of her clinical excellence and interest in implantology.

She subsequently completed a General Practice Residency at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health and Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York, where she received advanced hospital-based training with a strong emphasis on surgical care, including the management of complex cases and interdisciplinary treatment planning.

Dr. Volman went on to complete a rigorous three-year specialty program in Periodontics at the University of Toronto, earning her Master’s degree. Her graduate research focused on enhancing the performance of collagen-based biomaterials used in regenerative periodontal procedures. Her work was recognized with the Dr. Jaroslav Sodek Memorial Award and a finalist finish in the Constantine Maniatopoulos Research Competition.

Dr. Volman is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and is dedicated to delivering refined, evidence-based care, with a focus on the preservation, regeneration, and functional rehabilitation of oral tissues using advanced surgical techniques.

In her personal time, Dr. Volman enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, painting abstract art, and traveling to new places.
